TV opportunity for OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN-based attorneys
Deadline to submit your information: April 7, 2018
What We Do
We interview founders of Michigan-based companies for a local Bloomfield Hills, Oakland County, cable TV program called Michigan Entrepreneur TV. We celebrated our 10-year anniversary in 2015 and started our 13th year in January 2018.
Who We Want to Interview for an Upcoming Series
We’re currently accepting applications from local attorneys from Oakland County who can speak on the following topics. We have four separate 30-minute TV interviews opportunities. This opportunity requires a physical presence in a local television studio – we cannot do remote interviews.
Ideally, we want 4 different attorneys to cover the topics below. They can be from the same law firm, however.
The objective is to provide useful, information relevant to entrepreneurs. We include a disclaimer at the beginning of each interview that the content is for informational purposes only, not legal advice, and that viewers must contact their own legal resources for application to their business or circumstances.
We are seeking attorneys who specifically work in matters related to these areas.
>> Interview 1: Intellectual Property Law – focus on social media only – who owns your content, what about affiliate links, use of brand names online, required disclosures, and platform-specific legal issues that users should know about. Use of photos online, including photos featuring people, buildings, brand-name items, etc.
>> Interview 2: FTC and internet marketing – what types of things should entrepreneurs know about when representing themselves online. Focus on website required vs nice-to-have disclosures, disclosure of affiliate links (and especially details around Amazon affiliate links), earnings statements, CAN-SPAM laws and disclosures, etc. Use of photographs/images. Tips should you be contacted for misuse of information, images, etc. DMCA take down notices.
>> Interview 3: Podcasting and the Law – focus on using podcast-safe music, mentioning brand names online, copyrighting the name of your show (pros and cons), guest releases, etc.
>> Interview 4: Entrepreneurs: protecting your intellectual property. Discuss copyright issues related to books and articles – both online and in print. Work for hire agreements when hiring others to do ghostwriting, create images or other artwork, etc. Legal remedies for protecting your content from others who are misusing it.
We handle this process via email. We can only reply if there’s an interest and if requested info is submitted in the correct format.
